Safe driving is in your hands!

Safe driving breeds safe drivers. Although cars get smarter and geared with updated technologies for safety every year, it’s important to always remember the basic driving rules for safety.

These are sometimes forgotten or worse, even neglected. It’s BASIC for a reason, and that is its importance in everyday driving.

We dedicate this month of September to give you 5 basic tips for Safe Driving!

Here’s an infographic of our tips for a safe and sound driving:

1. Buckle Up!
Always wear your seat belt! R.A 8750 or the “Seat Belts Use Act of 1999” requires front seat passengers to use their seat belt devices while inside a vehicle of running engine on any road. Even if the law did not mention requiring the back seat passengers on private motors, wearing seat belts is still the responsible thing to do.

2. Alcohol and driving do not go together.
Driving under the influence of alcohol is strictly against the law. If you had a drink or two, book an Uber or Grab instead. Save yourself from paying hefty fines or getting into an accident.

3. It’s better to be prepared!
Always remember to bring your repair tools and first aid kit in case of emergencies. You never know what might happen in the road.

4. You’re not in a race.
Don’t allow yourself to get drawn into contest with other drivers who want to race, or who dodge in and out of lanes trying to pass you. You are putting yourself and other drivers as well in a danger.

5. Take a break if you need to.
Try not to drive more than 3 hours at a time. If you are on a long road trip, take a break at least every 3 hours and pull over to stretch your legs. It’s not only yourself that need a rest but also your car. Some cars are not meant for long driving, take note of that.
