Metro Manila Development Authority Prepares 2nd Metro-Wide Shake Drill

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will conduct its 2nd shake drill on June 22, 2016, and it was dubbed as the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS).

This 2nd shake drill aims to project scenarios across the country for disaster preparedness of the people in case a 7.2 magnitude tremor hit the country.

One of the scenarios to be simulated in the shake drill that will start at 9 o’clock in the morning will be the simulation of Guadalupe Bridge in Makati City’s collapse. This “shake drill” also aims to test how quick the rescuers will respond to help the possible victims and search for survivors. And how people should react, what to do and where to go in case of a massive earthquake hit the country are lessons to learn from the drill.

MMDA therefore is warning all motorists to expect heavy traffic in the Metropolis thus they ask for the public’s understanding and patience on that day.

Stay Safe….Be Alert at all times
